We are starting a brand new series in our blog called Behind the RightFit Trainer! This series will feature one of our personal trainers and give you inside look at their experience, passions and guilty pleasures.
Why did you become a personal trainer?
For the last 5 years I have learned so much about what it is that I am passionate about. I finally found my path in life which is health and fitness. I grew up involved in a variety of sports and soon discovered my passion for dance. I danced my way through college and as I went on to start my career in the world I knew I wanted to continue dancing. With a full time job as an elementary school teacher, I got a certification in Zumba and group fitness and started teaching at the local gym. As I continued to work my day job I saw myself falling in love with being in the gym and teaching fitness. I soon made the decision to change my career path to what I enjoyed. I became an ACE certified personal trainer and certified in teaching Yoga. This career is not a “job” to me it’s a passion and joy. I can’t wait to wake up everyday to get to my clients and fitness students and make a difference in their lives!
What are your favorite things about being a personal trainer?
What excites me the most is sharing my knowledge and being able to help others. Watching my clients build confidence, follow their dreams, and reach their goals gives me fulfillment in my own life!
If you could train one celebrity, who would it be and why?
If I could train one celebrity i would like to work with Beyonce. She would not only be a blast to train, but also would be an inspiration to me. She is healthy and keeps her body in shape while being a mother and busy successful singer.
If you had one workout style to describe yourself, what would it be?
I would describe my workout style as “variety”. I don’t like to use the everyday gym machines or typical exercises. My style is always mixing up the workouts to where my client doesn’t become bored or plateau.
In your mind, what is the single biggest benefit for someone to hire a personal trainer?
The biggest benefit in hiring a personal trainer is having a partner who wants to see you be successful.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are reading, yoga, dancing, playing with my puppy, and getting together with family and friends.
Any guilty pleasures?
My guilty pleasure is watching Netflix with a pizza dinner from Papa Johns!
