Get to know this week’s RightFit Personal Training featured trainer, Brian McClelland. Brian is a former collegiate cheerleader and current triathlete looking to train others in being physically active, to live a healthy lifestyle, and finding what they love about fitness.
Why did you become a personal trainer?
To help others and to be a positive influence in my community.
What are your favorite things about being a personal trainer?
Working with people, seeing a client achieve a goal, ability to set my own schedule, designing workouts and programs best suited for individuals.
If you could train one celebrity, who would it be and why?
Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs. He’s a spokesperson for my anchor gym. I’d love to train him for a triathlon. He would be a high profile person in the city to showcase the sport and how well it would work for him to cross train in the off season, but also give some people who might not be as familiar with the sport more interest to get involved.
If you had one workout style to describe yourself, what would it be?
In your mind, what is the single biggest benefit for someone to hire a personal trainer?
To help them stay accountable to achieve their fitness goals, whatever they may be.
What are your hobbies?
Triathlon, movies, street feasts, hanging out with my wonderful wife, theater/comedy.
Any guilty pleasures?
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
