Get to know this week’s RightFit Personal Training featured trainer, Malachy. Malachy discovered an affinity for Kinesiology through his studies and while playing college soccer. His mission as a personal trainer is to provide a product that will give clients a newer, fitter version of themselves! His programs will utilize all modalities of training from body weight to resistance training techniques with different methods like circuit training, interval training, and more!
Why did you become a personal trainer?
After I stopped playing sports, I continued to workout to stay in the shape that I was in when I was playing. A friend of mine wanted to train with me so he could be in shape and after a year, he saw results for himself. He then suggested I should become a personal trainer and the rest was history.
What are your favorite things about being a personal trainer?
It’s very personable. The relationship that I build with my clients are somewhat like a friendship. The dynamic that could be formed between client/trainer is great and could last a long time!
If you could train one celebrity, who would it be and why?
Will Smith. He’s very inspiring. I would train him so I can soak his mentality on life and apply it into my clientele.
If you had one workout style to describe yourself, what would it be?
Functional
In your mind, what is the single biggest benefit for someone to hire a personal trainer?
Accountability. I believe that’s the biggest benefit because life can be demanding at times and it’s easy to lose track of goals and progress where we lose self-accountability. We all need an extra push.
What are your hobbies?
Watching documentaries and sports, playing video games, and traveling.
Any guilty pleasures?
Candy for sure.
