Why did you become a personal trainer?

To share a fitness mindset – to inspire and educate people to live a happier and healthier lifestyle and reach their goals, regardless of the obstacles. I wanted to bridge fitness and training into everyday life. To show clients that they can create their own strength and build their bodies from their own dedication and hard work – just like I had. To me, this is more than a job. It’s a vocation. Fitness is not only about how you look, it is about how we feel and inspire others and I’m here to pass on what I have learned to people who want to begin their fitness journey!

What are your favorite things about being a personal trainer?

Giving individuals the tools to empower themselves to live a healthier, balanced lifestyle as well as encouraging them to challenge themselves and push past their perceived limits! Seeing my clients gain confidence in both mind and body and develop an overall outlook on life that becomes more optimistic with every workout is incredibly rewarding. Your life is something you can take control of with the right tools and my goal with each client is to give them the tools and teach them how to use them!

If you could train one celebrity, who would it be and why?

Kayla Itsines (not your typical Hollywood celebrity). I spent a few years enjoying my early 20s traveling overseas and in the process, lost a routine in my training. When I finally returned to the UK, I used her guides to get me back on track and it kickstarted my own personal transformation leading me to where I am today. Her guides taught me accountability and that fitness was more than just how you look. I’d love to get my own back one day – and learn from her in the process.

If you had one workout style to describe yourself, what would it be?

I am a real ‘you can do it” and ‘you’re stronger than you think’ type person and this reflects in both the workouts I give my clients and when I workout individually. Encouraging, motivating and tough – all with a smile on my face 🙂

In your mind, what is the single biggest benefit for someone to hire a personal trainer?

A personal trainer teaches you the proper way to perform each exercise movements, increases efficiency in your workouts, gives you the motivation to challenge yourself and continue with a program you may otherwise find difficult to maintain, as well as keeping you accountable for goal setting! Before I became qualified, it made such a difference in my own personal performance when I worked closely with a qualified individual who taught me the correct technique – they gave me the confidence to walk into the gym and know exactly what I was doing (and why!).

What are your hobbies?

Hiking, travelling, staying as active as possible and exploring Chicago’s brunch and coffee spots!

Any guilty pleasures?

Ice cream, gummies and ‘Made in Chelsea’ (think ‘The Hills’, but very posh and British).
