About Ricky Jackson


(Cell-832-423-2636)12X Trainer of the Year Boxing and Personal Trainer, Ricky Jackson has been involved with fitness for the last 40 years, as a professional athlete, collegiate and professional Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for 18 different sports, a Youth Camp Supervisor at The Houstonian Health Club, and a Boxing/Personal trainer at The Briar Club. He has developed his training regiments from his 100 plus hours of Human Performance studies at Texas Southern University to the various trainers and coaches that he has had the tremendous privilege of working with over the years. It has been a great advantage for Ricky, both personally and professionally to have been involved in so many phenomenal training programs. These experiences have helped Ricky develop a style of his own, which includes the most advantageous training regimens for each one of his many satisfied clients.

“Coach” Jackson was a professional prizefighter from 1989 until retiring in 2001. He bypassed the amateur ranks and began competing on the professional level. He turned heads with an impressive record of 26 wins, 4 losses with 18kos. Achievements during his illustrious boxing career include:
•Texas Cruiserweight Championship Title 1994
•Texas Heavyweight Champion from 1994-2001 (Emeritus)
•World rankings with the WBU (#8), NAFB (#12), WBC (#16), and WBA (#22).

He also made boxing history by fighting for the first-ever WBU World Supercruiserweight Title.

As a free agent, Ricky Jackson fought for some of the top promoters and trainers in the World; George Benton, Lou Duva, Eddie Futch, Emanuel Stewart, Don Turner, and Tommy Brooks, Curtis Cokes, Jessie Reid, Aaron Snowell, Cedric Kushner, and the Duva’s Main Events Monitor. In 1998, he signed with boxing promoter Don King, where he remained until 2000. He attributes his exceptional strength and conditioning knowledge to the multitude and quality of coaches and personal trainers he has the privilege of working with over the years.

I have been training with Ricky for a little over 8 years now. When I started with him I was 10 months post-op from having an L5-S1 Anterior Lumbar Fusion (back surgery). For ten years I had issues with my back, throughout my entire 20’s I felt like I had the body of an unhealthy 80-year-old. I was in pain all the time. I could not exercise or do most things people my age were doing without “paying for it” during the following weeks. I had heard about Ricky from some friends and they all spoke of him very highly. I was very skeptical about training because of my history with back pain, but eventually, I was talked into at least giving it a try. The first time I worked out with Ricky, we talked extensively about my concerns and about my surgery. He developed a program to help me strengthen my core to help support my back and lessen the pain. When I started I couldn’t run more than a couple of minutes, could barely squat 85 lbs. more than once, and was still dealing with back pain. Within 6 months of training with Ricky I was running 2 miles, squatting 225 lbs 10 times and I no longer had back pain 24/7. Due to a new job and hectic travel schedule, I had to take a 10-month hiatus from the gym. However, I’ve since returned to the gym and part of that decision was due to that “sneaky” back pain I felt returning. Since being back in the gym the last 3 months, I am doing things I never thought possible. I am already up to running 3 miles every workout and I feel great. My strength is also returning rapidly. Training with Ricky was one of the best decisions I ever made, he has changed my life! People workout with trainers for all different reasons, I chose to do it because I wanted to take control of my body and be pain-free. Ricky Jackson helped me achieve this goal. In addition, working out has helped to increase my self-esteem and confidence in my abilities.

He improved my 40yd dash from 4.72 to 4.41, with speed and strength drills that are second to none. Regardless of your sport or profession his knowledge is on point. Coach Jackson helped me to obtain all American status in college while also being in top shape playing in Europe. I would not put my physical conditioning in another coaches hands.

 I have worked out off and on over the past several years but wanted to get back being the best I could be. Ricky has been the great getting me to give my all, and the results I have gotten in just a few months really show it. Ricky takes great pride in his profession and is a real pleasure to work with, now my wife has also seen the light and she is working out with us as well. There is no way I would be able to attain what I have to date without Ricky’s help, he is worth every penny. And he even come to my residence!

In order to get back into the gym after a year of injuries, I was referred to Ricky by a friend..

I was told that he’d know exactly what to do and how hard to push me. It�s difficult to start all over! I took the advice and trained with Ricky for a while. By designing a varied and challenging regiment including elements of strength training, cardio and nutrition, as well as meeting at some pre-dawn time (not sure that was by design!), Ricky helped me make significant changes in my fitness level and body shape in a relatively short period of time. Ricky gave me 200% of his effort and focus each time we worked together . . .and provided the inspiration and motivation for me so that I could reach my goals. One of the best moves I ever made!

Ricky is great!

My boyfriend and I have been doing group in home training (so convenient) with Ricky 2-3 times a week for the past few months and I’ve really noticed a difference in my overall fitness and strength. His scheduling is very flexible so just about anytime I want to work out, he’s available.

Ricky’s style is very different than working out alone. He works the whole body using a mixture of approaches that keeps me from getting bored or falling into a rut. Also, I LOVE the boxing.

Also, Ricky’s a nice guy. But be warned: he’s tough. The first month I felt like I wanted to throw up – and that was just after the warm up!

I’d highly recommend Ricky for anyone looking to increase strength and muscle tone as well as cardio training and conditioning.

He keeps his clients focused in their goal through positive motivation and encouragement. He has a high level of knowledge in regards to the client he is working with. He knows what he is teaching. He mixes different exercises together including BOXING which makes it more fun( you won’t get bored at all :). We all have different needs when it comes to fitness and Mr. Ricky is the right trainer who can help us to reach the needs or desired goals. I am glad that I chose the right trainer who can help me to reach my goal 🙂

I’m a healthcare professional, and though my personal health has always been a priority to me, a hectic personal life had begun to interfere with maintaining my physical health and endurance. I sought a personal trainer that I felt was experienced, and could quickly re-establish a healthy lifestyle for me. I was blessed to find Ricky Jackson. He is knowledgeable about diet and fitness. He quickly trained muscle groups, and worked to increase my strength and endurance. My overall fitness has improved tremendously, quickly, under his direction. The doctors said had I not been in such great shape I may have died. Two cysts and my uterus wall finally ruptured and blood and fluid went into my abdomen and pelvic cavity. Had I not been so fit my body would not have been able to make it. I had emergency surgery and the endometriosis had taken over everything and grown into my spine and pelvic ligaments, colon and organs. No wonder I was hurting so badly. Anyway after I recover in 6 weeks I should be way better and in no pain and able to get into the best shape ever. Thanks for training me. It literally saved my life!

I have been working out most of my adult life but I was never REALLY satisfied with the results. I wasn’t overweight but I always felt like I should lose 5 or 10 more pounds. Popular magazines with alluring articles of how to “flatten your abs, lift your butt or trim your thighs” just don’t seem to work. I tried diets, the latest TV workout machine and I even tried to get a “Smokin’ Hot Body” in 90 days but none of these methods made much of a difference or had any long term effect.
When I started working out with Ricky I was blown away! I began to quickly see improvements. Ricky showed me what to do to get the lasting results I craved. He makes it so simple that you don’t have to think about a thing. Yes, I had to work at it but believe me, MEASURABLE CHANGE is a great motivator.
