About Mckinzie Polchow

Hi, to whoever is taking the time to read this and contemplating me as their new trainer! I go by Kinzie and my passion is to physically and mentally alter my client’s life for the better. Growing up on a farm I was pretty active, yet not healthy. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from UIUC in IL. After ending my engagement at a young age I needed a new hobby and took a leap of faith with a gym membership. For about two years I went to the gym with the only goal of becoming skinny. When going into college I only knew two things, I wanted to work with the human body and work with others to make an impact in people’s lives. With that being said, I went the pre-med track. I intended on going to Physical Therapy school, but when the time came to interview I knew in my gut it was not the correct path for me. Throughout college my passion for fitness grew deeper and deeper. I was able to expand my knowledge on the human body and physical activity from my courses. This taught me strength/resistance training, the difference between strength and endurance, and a desire to be muscular and strong. After graduating from UIUC I became a CPT. Making my physical and mental health a top priority has given me the motivation to move thousands of miles away, to Austin, TX, start my own PT business, and live a more fulfilled life. I hope that if given the opportunity I can use my knowledge to help you find your story of how living a physically active lifestyle can change your life in a positive way.

Training Philosophy
You get one body in this crazy thing called life. If you aren't happy with it why not take the time to change it?

Typical Training Session

In a typical training session you can expect not only a workout and also a mini therapy session in one! I love getting to know my clients and having open genuine conversations about things they are passionate about. Fitness is obviously one of my great passions and being my client I get to share that with you. Therefore, I love when clients open up about their passions to me during our sessions! Whether it be their kids, traveling, work, etc. My sessions go from 1 to 1.5 hours long. They consist of a warm up, 1 to 2 HIIT exercises, resistance training, and then a cool down followed by stretching. I typically do the warm up and cool down with my clients, but prefer to observe during HIIT and resistance. This is so that I can remain attentive to your form, limits, and overall performance during the workout.

Client success story

The first client success story to pop into my friend is one of my current clients. She is a wife and mother of two. She works from home, leading to sedentary habits, and had her youngest child last year in 2019. She started training with me and within 6 weeks she almost cried to me during a session because she said she already feels more confidence, strong, and energized. She had worked with trainers in the past who did give her the results she was looking for but took about 4 months before she began to feel this happy with herself. In 6 weeks she slimmed down in her tummy, began to see definition in her back/arms, and her husband told her her butt was bubblier!! Hearing how excited she was to already feel more comfortable in her own skin in such a short period of time is how I know I am in the correct career field. While making my programs I not only aspire to physically alter an individual, I aim too mentally and emotionally build them up so they can own their hard work and dedication.
