Health and Fitness isn’t just what we do in the gym, with a trainer or on our own. It’s also how we live our every day lives to help maximise our results, from our hard work.
We need to put ourselves in the right environment, around the right people to help inspire and motivate ourselves to get the most out of life.
Training, is so much more than just lifting weights, running sprints or doing sit-ups. We need to also train the most important part of ourselves, that controls everything we do. Our mind!
Controlling our mind can be difficult for some. I’ve also had to battle the demon inside my head that would say, “Lets stay home and watch Game of Thrones instead of training” or “Its too cold outside to train”. Or the one I find the most difficult “Lets eat a tub of Ben and Jerry’s instead of cooking a healthy meal”.
We all have been there and sometimes it can be hard to climb out of the hole we find ourselves in. I’m not just talking about fitness related either, it could also be the feeling of “where is my life headed?”
One of my favorite quotes from an old Samurai warrior, Miyamoto Musashi: “Know one thing, to know another”. Meaning, if we could really apply ourself through hard work in the gym, we can apply that philosophy in our every day life.
Control our MIND. Train our BODY. Strengthen our SPIRT!
