Hi my name is Amanda, I started boxing at the age of 16 and I love coaching just as much as I love training in the sport. I feel that boxing is the perfect balance of aerobic and anaerobic exercise that never gets boring – there is always room for improvement! As a boxer, I put many miles on the road training for competitions. This in turn sparked my new love interest of long-distance running and I am always training for the next race. I will be running a half marathon at Joshua Tree State park to celebrate my coming birthday! Along with boxing and running, I choose kettle bells as my number one strength-training method because I believe the fluidity of the movements keep things closely tied to the fluid motions of boxing. I am also a lover of the great outdoors, so when I can’t be reached, I am probably trail running in the forest or camping and hiking with my family.
I believe being active is just a necessity for life, its not about the beach body look but the youthful feeling like you can do anything throughout all your days. I would like to to inspire you to find the importance of being active, to find happiness in challenging yourself to try new things and be amazed at what you can accomplish physically and emotionally. Body positivity is very important to me, I will not encourage you to kill yourself to get a six pack but I will encourage you to be a able to run a 5K without stopping, perfect your left hook, or help meet your specific fitness goal and that may be a six pack and if so , we got this!
