Ever since I started on a post-organized athletics fitness path over 10 years ago, I found myself consistently unsatisfied and unfulfilled with whatever workout regimen or cardio-marathon I was engaging in at the time to fulfill my purely aesthetic goals. It wasn’t until I discovered strength training that I began to experience genuine fulfillment from workouts. The development of physical strength has an incredible mental component, one that I believe is largely disregarded, particularly for females. Knowing that you are capable, not feeling weak, not feeling inadequate, understanding that there is more to “fitness” than achieving arbitrary aesthetics – knowing that you are strong, and that you’ve put in the work to get there – is tremendously empowering. The way that we feel, physically, has an immense impact on how we feel mentally and emotionally. The realization of this potential, this strength, can lead to a renewed sense of self; a sense of empowerment, strength, confidence, discipline, accountability and control over daily life (and a general sense of badassery, of course). My goal is to share these often overlooked yet absolutely crucial components with other women, to help redefine what “fitness” means for women through strength training. I want provide each and every one of my clients the tools and the opportunity to learn, move well, feel strong and feel great.

As a former competitive gymnast, I look for fitness trainers that can guide me through challenging workouts fine tuned for my body’s specific strengths and weaknesses. Until I started working with Annie, I hadn’t found a trainer that could do that. From day one, she has provided really tough, yet fun workouts that have expanded my workout repertoire and produced noticeable results in my muscle tone and strength levels. What started as training sessions to show me the ropes in heavy lifting turned into a full 2x a week training plan that led all the way to my wedding. These workouts were a huge stress reliever during the months of wedding planning and helped me feel fantastic in my wedding dress!
