Train out of your home – The trainer comes to you.
Starting my fitness career came out of necessity. I was riddled with injuries and needed to mend myself because I couldn’t afford anything else. Fast forward through college, and I had played a successful college baseball career with a kinesiology degree.
I learned how training influences you and you influence your training. Evolving from a very jock oriented type to a holistic orientation that allowed me to succeed in my sport even further.
From new tools to new techniques, sports teams will always inquire further than the typical PT. Being a former professional athlete, having access to some of the best and newest methods in the industry always peaked my abilities and interests.
Now, as a trainer of both general population and athletics, I value giving the curriculum that my clients want but, also what they need to continue their journey into health and wellness.

“Expect to go in to a workout with mindful breathing and movement, feel great after the session, and later that night or the next day, you’ll feel the work you’ve done!” – Dara Stapleton, JOYA YOGA Client
“Alex is one of the best trainer I have ever come across! I have been training with Alex for about 2 years and I am stronger than I have ever been in the past. Alex explains things in a way that makes sense and give you the “how” and “why” of the moves and exercise he teaches. Alex teaches you the correct movement to avoid injury and maximize your gains.” Sagit Golden, JOYA YOGA Client
Austin Overton is a 17 year old HS senior at Granda HS in the class of 2020. He recently just returned from attending school out of state at the presitigious sports charter school, IMG academy, where he played baseball.
Upon returning home for his senior year in his hometown, he opted to find a new trainer with new methods. We met at Joyaand continued to have dialogue with his parents and himself. Eventually, we signed a 10 pack deal in the beginning of summer 2019. We started to build a movement foundation that addressed his needs/wants. Even incorporating mental imagery work that allows Austin to have homework or have notes to refer to when he is struggling during a game.
Since July, we’ve ran close to 50 sessions and everything from his physicallity has changed, from posture to his core aesthetics, he has revamped and changed his body and mindset. He hasn’t even played an inning for Granada HS and has had 5 colleges/universities reach out not only interested but, welcoming Austin to visit as soon as he can.
The season is a few months away but, regardless of the outcome, Austin has a built a foundation of hard work and understanding that will transcend the baseball diamond.
