Train out of your home – The trainer comes to you.
Hi, I’m James! I’m a physical therapist and personal trainer serving the Tamarac, Coral Springs and Parkland area area who works with individuals and small groups to help reach their fitness goals. My clientele is very broad based. I’ve worked with beginners having little or no background in nutrition/exercise to advanced athletes for whom I’ve designed intense workouts and provided specialized training for upcoming events. I have experience working with special needs, as well as injured clients for whom I fashion ways to progress despite their limits. As a people person, I enjoy working with the different personalities I encounter that have varying body types at all fitness and skill levels. I’m very aware of the fact that each client is unique. I can tailor a diet and workout regimen to help you reach your goals. Clients often struggled with a workable fitness/nutrition plan before starting with me. Heck, many of my them had no plan in place at all. I believe that goals not written down are just wishes. These same clients now have SMART goals. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timed. I’m not going to tell a 300 pound man he’ll have a six pack in 90 days. Maybe if it’s a six pack of beer, but sculpted abs require more effort. :). I can help you as I’ve helped my other clients to lose weight, acquire a healthier lifestyle, increase energy levels, and enhance physical performance. What makes me different, you say? I am certainly not your cookie-cutter trainer. I will push hard, but find the time to make you laugh. I think fitness should be fun. Yes, you should actually enjoy it! I want to make my passion your passion. I will take the time to listen to your vision, your ideas, what’s going on with you and how that aids or interferes with your progress. We can figure out a program that will best suit your needs. Every BODY is different. What’s best for one person often doesn’t work for another. My whole family’s in the health and physical therapy industry so I embrace a clinical approach based on current knowledge and common sense. In all honesty, many of my clients have seen impressive, head-turning results. I hope after reading this, you’ll give me the opportunity to aid you in reaching your fitness goals! My facility: University Fitness located at 7166 N. University Dr., Tamarac, FL 33321. I also provide training at clients’ homes when necessary.
I like that I can make a difference in someones life. When a client comes to me and tells me that they’ve for example:
“Fit into a pair of jeans they haven’t fit into years”
“Got a complement from a loved one or coworker on their body transformation”
“Made it up the stair without huffing and puffing”
These things really make me happy and I put everything I can to best make sure my client’s are happy.

A typical personal training session is like a mini adventure, packed with motivation, sweat, and a few laughs along the way. Here’s what a client can expect:
1. Warm-Up Party: Forget jumping straight into heavy lifting! You’ll start with a fun warm-up that might include dynamic stretches, light cardio, or a few dance moves (depending on your trainer’s vibe). The goal? Get your muscles warmed up and your energy up even higher!
2. Customized Circuit of Awesomeness: Based on your goals, your trainer will have a plan that could include strength training, cardio, flexibility, or a combo of all three. You might find yourself swinging kettlebells like a ninja, smashing out burpees like a superhero, or doing squats that make you feel like a fitness rock star.
3. Form Fixes and Cheering Section: Think of your trainer as a mix between a coach and a hype person. They’ll correct your form to keep you safe and cheer you on to do “just one more rep” when you’re ready to tap out. Bonus points if they throw in a few jokes or fun stories to keep you distracted during the burn!
4. Cool Down and Zen Time: After the intensity, it’s time to bring things down a notch. Expect stretching, foam rolling, or even some light mobility work to help relax those muscles you just worked so hard.
5. Celebratory High-Five and Game Plan: Finish with a high-five or fist bump (because you earned it!), and a quick recap of the session. Your trainer might also give you some homework—like hydration tips or a new stretch to try at home—so you’re always moving toward your goals.
And remember, each session might be a little different, keeping you on your toes and making every workout something to look forward to. It’s not just about lifting weights—it’s about lifting your spirits, too!
