About Jared Evans

I have been training people for 12 years in a variety of settings. I have worked with people in wellness clinics, martial arts schools, personal training studios and even in the military when I was serving my country. I have always loved body-weight training and using minimal equipment. I believe self sufficiency in exercise goes a long way toward making exercise accessible, and therefore affecting long lasting change.

Through my experiences while completing my Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science at Ithaca College and working with collegiate teams, I learned how to improve sport performance and strength. During my time running my own martial arts school I learned to work with a wide range of people with varying fitness and skill levels with minimal equipment. I also learned how to improve flexibility, endurance and focus.

Lastly, my work in a clinical setting taught me patience and how to fit exercises to people with varying degenerative conditions and other physical limitations. With this knowledge and my experience I hope to serve you in reaching your health, fitness, and performance goals and help you learn self reliance so you can make exercise a life-long pursuit.

Training Philosophy
Strength is the foundation of all other qualities. From there, you decide which direction you want to go and what you want to specialize in.

Training Professionally Since
May 1, 2012

Typical Training Session

We will start the first session with an assessment and talking about your goals. I will have you do a few movements to test the waters and make sure everything looks good from a muscular balance standpoint to know what (if any) corrective exercises we will need. Then, we will get into the warmup for the movements of the day which might include dynamic stretching or just lighter sets of the strength work we will do that day. Depending on the day, we will cycle through various movements as well as splitting up our training to allow more time per session to be focused on a given area. We will finish with more mobilizations and static stretching to improve postural structure as needed.

Client success story

“My short enlistment with the US Navy was the only time in my life I’ve been in better physical condition than when I’ve trained with Jared. Jared is not a ‘one method fits all’ personal trainer. Jared’s specialty is tailoring a training regimen that fits your personal goals and physics needs. He also strives over time to have you become less dependent on him and to take personal responsibility for fitness as a part of your lifestyle. I approached Jared early last summer having formerly been a student in his martial arts class. At this time I had embarrassingly become the heaviest I’d weighed in my lifetime. Through workouts that included warm-up, martial arts training, TacFit Commando, and cool down stretching two to three times a week throughout the summer and then continuing on my own into the fall I was able to lose 23 lbs and gain a healthier lifestyle. In addition, I’ve been able to use what I learned from Jared with my varsity athletes in girls’ basketball and boys’ baseball teams. I would highly recommend Jared as a personal trainer to anyone seeking to become more fit and gain a healthier lifestyle. — Michael F., NY
