About Joan Widdifield
A North Carolina native, Joan Widdifield has been involved in sports and dance all her life. She
is a former psychotherapist who practiced in Chicago and San Francisco, and an award-winning
social justice documentary filmmaker. As a psychotherapist, Joan recognized the connection
between movement and improved mental health, which led to her career in fitness. She is a
group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Joan teaches formats including Boot Camp, Total Body Strength, Pilates-Fusion, Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Aqua Fitness and Barre. She is an ACE certified Health Coach and an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. Joan specializes in functional training, core strength and helping clients achieve a healthy body weight. Her upbeat sessions focus on improving strength, balance, stability, and overall health and well-being.
