About Megan J


Hey there! I’m a Colorado native that has had a full fitness journey! I was a fairly overweight kid until high school when I learned the hard way how to loose weight- over exercise and don’t eat. It worked but didn’t last. I went on to pursue a culinary degree which taught me so much about diet and how to compose a meal that is healthy and delicious. After college I went on to exercise on my own with no real goal or plan in mind. It was hit or miss on results until I decided to run a half marathon. After find a love of endurance sport and racing I went on to compete in numerous marathons and endurance challenges without lifting. This got me thin but also caused sport ending injuries. After being told I would not marathon anymore I dedicated myself to strength and conditioning for a lifetime. I wanted to be strong for my daughter and not have to worry about everything I ate and if I could run enough miles to burn it off. Strength training has changed my life and I want it to change others. I love working on form. Lifting heavy and finding our boundaries safely. Challenging ourselves safely for a great long lasting result is incredibly rewarding.

Training Philosophy
Form before anything. Finding your boundaries of strength within form limitations. Priming and considering muscles used before asking them to contract. Progressive overload via challenging ourselves.

Training Professionally Since

Typical Training Session

10-15 min of priming and warm up. Workouts will always start with the hardest/compund exercise or muscle focus first. Attributing the most calorie and glycogen to the muscle we need the most from right away. Top down workouts after that- finishing with the least of the important groups for that day and any other smaller movements last. Constant and present feedback on what is expected and how we can get the most out of exercises. Dedicated rest periods. Fun banter and chatting to ensure we build a relationship!


Client success story

Using anabolic strength training and nutrition help my client, Matt, was able to gain 20lb of muscle mass over a 1 year period and drop 10% body fat. He also developed a wealth of knowledge on building workouts, execution at home, safe form and how to modify or progress exercises over that time period.


Hobbies
My 10 year old daughter, 2 big dogs, hiking, outdoor walking or sports, cooking, EDM and country music, reading.
