My name is Misty and I first started dancing over thirty years ago. I got my certifications and started teaching in 2020. I have always loved it and it makes exercising a lot of fun while it has many benefits. It helps increase muscular strength and endurance. Dancing improves circulation, can improve posture, balance, and coordination. I teach balance, strengthening, meditative breathing, and I teach my clients how to listen to their own body.
Hourly rate: $140
Session cancellation: 24 hours notice required
First session is FREE
We will go step by step through each dance movement. No experience necessary. I teach three to four modifications of each move. We will start with a warm-up and some stretching, move on into our dance, and then we will have a cool down at the end of class. I can adapt my teaching style to include everyone in class.
I have a client with a pace maker. For a while, her doctor was giving her bad reports on her breathing until she took my class. Through my yoga class and dance class, she has learned how to take deep breaths. When she went back to the doctor, he asked her what had changed because everything looked so different. Now, her doctor is giving her good news at each appointment.
